Our Strategy

Synergy is a leading international supplier of outsourced support services to the healthcare market within the UK & Ireland, Europe & the Middle East, Asia & Africa and The Americas. Our core services are the sterilisation of medical devices, infection control and other environmental management services, together with clinical pathology, occupational health and microbiological services. In each of our core service areas we look for opportunities to expand the range of services that we offer and continue to invest in our range of products through the acquisition of new technologies that require commercialization.

Whilst Synergy has focused on providing services almost exclusively to the healthcare market, there is a clear demand for many of our technologies in other markets.

Our objective is to sustain our growth through the continued internationalisation of the business, the development of our core services and through the application of our services in new health related markets.

Our Vision & Values

Our Vision and Values are what define us and move us forward together as a strong business. Our Vision is what we constantly strive to attain each day, while our Values are the qualities and approach that help us to achieve that Vision.

Our Vision

To build a lasting reputation as the trusted experts in global health-related markets by differentiating our services and products through the way we work.

Why our brand is important...

When we established the company 20 years ago, we chose the name Synergy, as an expression of the way we would work with both our colleagues and clients. We believed then and still do now, that we can achieve improved business outcomes by working collaboratively. It is important that we share common values as we grow and expand across the globe. These values will essentially define how we interact with each other, along with our customers and other stakeholders in our business.

Our Values

We have four core values that we feel encompass our business and how we operate as an organisation:

Corporate & Social Responsibility

Synergy Health's services are a key component in the delivery of safe and effective health related care and in promoting an environment which minimises risk.

The safety of the patient and others are vital to the successful delivery of our services, including reducing the risk of cross infection. Synergy Health therefore continuously invests in its facilities and technology to ensure our process controls exceed industry standards and we work closely with regulators and other bodies to help drive forward best practice.

Synergy Health is working proactively with leading instrument suppliers to promote improved design and to help reduce the incidence of tray assembly defects which could otherwise affect the successful outcome of a surgical procedure.

Synergy Health is involved in a number of large procurement programmes with public sector and other healthcare providers in Europe, Asia and South Africa. Customers are encouraged to visit our facilities on an open and regular basis, without need for an appointment.

Synergy Health also supports a number of local and international charity and relief initiatives, which this year included providing free medical products for use in healthcare relief programmes in South East Asia and South America.

Quality & Environment

Synergy Health is represented on relevant committees of trade bodies both to support the industry and to maintain awareness of key issues and trends. Synergy Health also has representation on the British Standards Institute's committee for sterilisation of medical devices and working groups of the International Standards Organisation, helping with the development of standards.

All Synergy Health's surgical sterilisation facilities operate according to relevant European standards, including the European Medical Device Directive.

Minimising environmental impact through measuring and controlling emissions, recycling of surplus materials and careful disposal of clinical waste are integral to the running of Synergy Health's operations. Environmental risks are managed through the application of the highest standards of design, engineering and management.

Active cooperation takes place with national and international bodies responsible for isotope management and radiation safety.
