Registered on 27 September 2000, it is set-up as a non-profit society in which the government – State and Federal – provides the funding and infrastructure whereas the industry provides the support and leadership. | ||||

| Presently located in KKIP, the SSTC building has a total built-up area of 38,000 sq ft which houses 10 seminar rooms, 8 labs, 3 workshops, a resource centre, administrative office and 2 conference rooms. | |||||

| Industrial Skills Enhancement Program | |||||
| The Industrial Skills Enhancement Program is a fully funded program by the Federal Government, was introduced by the SSTC in 2005 with the objective of re-skilling graduates with knowledge and skills in various sectors: Plantation Management, Logistics Management, Safety & Health Officer and Cisco Certified Network Associate. | |||||
| WORKFORCE TECHNICAL TRANFORMATION PROGRAM | |||||
| The Workforce Technical Transformation Program is another program fully funded by the Federal Government for school-leavers. This program was introduced with the objective of equipping school-leavers with the knowledge and skills in the various sectors like Plantation Practices, Plantation Mill, Culinary Arts, Pastry Arts, Front Office Skills and Shielded Metal Arc Welding Technician. | |||||
| SME Corp TRAINING GRANT | |||||
| On 28 February 2002, SSTC was appointed by SME Corp Malaysian (formerly known as SMIDEC) as an approve Skills Training Provider aimed at enhancing skills and capabilities of employees of SMEs by providing with a special discount of 50% on the training cost. Presently SSTC has 119 courses approved under this scheme. | |||||

| Services, Primary Agriculture and Information Communication Technology (ICT) | |||||
| Small and medium enterprises in the services, primary agriculture and Information & Communication Technology (ICT) sectors are enterprises with full-time employees not exceeding 50 OR with annual sales turnover not exceeding RM5 million.” | |||||
